I was reading today's WSJ -- Marketplace section this morning. Interesting article on the new Yahoo Sansa Connect. An interesting attempt at yet another iPod killer. But that isn't what was interesting. The interesting thing happened when I turned to the last page of the section and saw an ad from Apple. It was a thank you ad to all the 100 million folks that had purchased an iPod.
Rather interesting coincidence I think. Or fabulous example of one hand feeding the other-- information that is. I've got to think the fine folks in Apple's PR group tipped off the ad folks of the impending story placement and the ad folks decided, hey, we can't direct the story but we can get the last word. Pretty smart I'd say. Too bad they didn't pull the same trick online and place a skyscraper ad next to the story.
