Take a look at the tweet above and ask yourself -- would you walk into a large, crowded room filled with folks that you know quite well AND folks you don't know quite so well and yell that out loud?
Now imagine that you'd like to impress a good many of the folks in the room. In fact, imagine that you hope to actually work for or with a number of the folks in the room -- and remember -- you don't really know them that well. Now would you yell that?
You may not believe in the concept of personal branding but even if you don't - hopefully you believe in good manners. I'm no stranger to F bombs... but at the same time, I realize that when you're amongst mixed company it's always better to err on the side of caution. Dress a wee bit better, speak a wee bit softer and be a wee bit nicer... never a bad idea.
Oh yes, and RT'ing it is just as bad IMHO as saying it... because everything you do in the world (offline and online) reflects on your personal brand. It all rolls up to create an image of you in the mind of others and we all should be thinking about that when we're in the public eye.
Maybe I'm wrong... if so, let me know in the comments. And if you agree, let me know that too because I'm quite interested in this topic as I'm seeing so much more of it these days.
Oh and one more thing - USA >> USA >> USA [obnoxious horn noises removed for your reading pleasure]
