Have you ever stopped and thought about things you can do with Social Media outside of communicating? I have... and I think one of the coolest things you can do is use a monitoring service like Radian6 or ScoutLabs or any of the others to help you decode your consumer's language.
I wrote the deck above a few years ago and to accomplish the exercise
we had to actually go an talk to consumers one-on-one. But as I was
reviewing the deck this morning for another project it occurred to me
that using social media monitoring services could take the place of the
one-one-one sessions and help you to better understand how a consumer
talks about your brand. From there seems you could develop brand
positionings, ad campaign and PR campaign language as well as customer
relationship management strategies. All by just investing in social
media listening and then applying a bit of rigor to the analysis.
